The last 48 have been... hard. Hard on daddy, hard on Julia and hard on mommy too. Tuesday we found out that mommy retained a placenta fragment in the uterus. It was a serious condition and can be very dangerous, with a high chance of postpartum hemorrhage. So urgent surgery was scheduled for first thing the next morning. Wednesday, 6:45 a.m.
While mommy was under anesthesia, Jules would have to drink formula. However, she refused it. Poor baby girl. That was traumatic.
It has been 24 hours since surgery. Daddy is doing better, Julia is doing better and mommy is too.

Mommy and Me Yoga
Jules and I went to yoga for the first time today since pregnancy. We practiced deep, slow breathing and good stretching. During the yoga poses, Julia was 'people watching.' She loved starring at the other babies in the class. She especially enjoyed watching baby Matthew, who was about 5 feet away. He was crying and fussy the whole time and she wasn't sure what to make of it.

PJ Party!
Mommy came down with a head cold a few days ago. So we spent a lot of time having PJ parties together. When we did get the energy to take a bath, we spent the day in our housecoats...
Finally, mommy started feeling better and we got dressed in pretty spring clothes. Pretty enough to still sleep a lot for mommy to get better and even the kitty joined in.

Two Months Old
Julia is responding more and more with big, wonderful smiles. She loves to smile at her daddy when he says, "It's me!" in a high pitch voice.
She can control her neck muscles to look around and hold up her wobbly head.
One of her favorite things to do is stand on your lap (with assistance of course).
Julia is still sleeping wonderfully at night. Mommy is trying to get her on a day schedule (with naps and nursing). However, Julia surprises her with no naps all day and then naps the next day. So no routine yet.
Baby coos started about 2 weeks ago. She has so much to tell us about!
Just like her papa, she fights her sleeps. Not even a car ride will put her to sleep.
The pacifier. Ah, the terrific pacifier! Julia started using it at 6 weeks.
She likes bath time and just started splashing the water with her feet. So much fun!
Julia rarely cries. When she does, it is mostly when she's hungry. But sometimes when her tummy hurts, she's bored or fights her sleep.
She still has eyes of blue. Will it change? We'll have to see.
Story time is one of her favorites. She looks at all of the pictures as you read.
Her favorite facial expression is dropping her eyebrows while studying something. She looks so serious and cute when she does this.

They Grow TOO fast!
When Aunt Shana was visiting, we picked out the cutest swimsuit (pink one worn in pictures) for Julia. It was size 3-6 month, which was perfect as Julia would be that size June, July and August.
Julia is 7 weeks old now and I was curious how well the suit fit. So on Monday, she tried it on and it was uncomfortably too small!
Thankfully, cousin Debbie, also known as SuperMommy, came to our rescue! She sent us a box full of little girl clothes, including FOUR super cute swimsuits that WILL fit Julia this summer! Hip, hip, hooray!
My little girl is style'n!
