Mommy and Me Yoga

I love going to yoga with Julia. We began our yoga journey together when I was 10 weeks pregnant. It is a special time for us to connect. I also get in stretching, a good workout and lots of deep breathing. However, Julia is what makes it fun!

P.S. she also makes a good weight.

9 Months!

Happy 9 months sweet Julia!

You have 5 teeth! Chomp, chomp!

You can stand yourself up without holding onto anything!

You laugh a lot! Even while playing by yourself, you'll bust up laughing! It is the most beautiful sound my heart has ever heard. Each time.

Say good-bye to your old car seat! You moved into your big girl convertible style car seat. You seem to like it better.

Story time has become more about looking at pictures and listening to the story and less about eating the book.

Sleeping at night was hard for a few weeks. You got to where you were waking up every hour. However, we found lots of help in the book, The No-Cry Sleep Solution. Now you sleep much better, waking up once, sometimes twice.

Your favorite food... Pizza. Gee, you are your father's child.

It is as cute as can be when you repeat uh-oh after us. You also like to do fake caughs. Sometimes we spend our whole dinner caughing back and forth. I'm not sure who likes it more.

If I barely run my finger by your neck, you start giggling hard!

Squeal! You squeal at people who say hi to you in the store, you squeal at all children you see out and about. You squeal at home to. It is a loud, high-pitched squeal and I still love to hear it!

You wave at everyone and you use your fingers to motion to people to come.

You are growing so fast. I'm not ready for you to be 9 months already.

Sunny Days, Sweeping the Clouds Away

Julia loves Sesame Street. It is the only show that gets her attention. I discovered this by chance months ago and was thankful for the discovery. Each day, while Julia watches a recorded show, I get 15 whole minutes of shower/get dressed time! I love it! She loves it! Especially 'Murray and his little lamb.' (Just between you and me, I think Murray is Papa's favorite too!)

I'm not one of those moms that are anti-all T.V. However, I am very aware of exactly how much and the content. Sesame Street is my saving grace, my deep breath knowing she won't cry for me just when I get shampoo lathered up in my hair, my flash of time to clean my teeth, my baby sitter each morning and a show I remember enjoying as a little girl. I love you Sesame Street. Happy 40th anniversary!

Being Me - A Good Quote

"There was something so valuable about what happened when one became a mother. For me it was the most liberating thing that happened...Liberating because the demands that children make
are not the demands of a normal "other."

The children's demands on me were things that no one else ever asked me to do. To be a good manager. To have a sense of humor... And they were not interested in all the things that other people were interested in, like what I was wearing or if I were sensual.

Somehow all the baggage I had accumulated as a person about what was valuable just fell away. I could not only be me - whatever that was - but somebody actually needed me to be that."

Smiles for Grandma and Grandpa Garner

Happy Birthday Papa!

Trick or Treat

Julia's first Halloween was filled with excitement! We started the day by going to brunch with some friends (who also dressed up). Mommy went as a witch and Julia went as a lamb.

Then we came home to decorate pumpkins. Papa skipped carving this year and chose a more baby friendly way of making a jack-o-lantern. Julia was a good helper. They made one green monster, one little silly monster and one princess. Great job you two!

Julia got into her lady bug costume for the trick-or-treaters. However, I think all the excitement was too much and she was asleep before the doorbell rang.

45 minutes later she was up again and joining in the fun! Then we went to a Halloween get together at our friend's Taylor and Carmen's house.

Happy FIRST Halloween!!!!
