Five Months Old

The months are flying by!!! I do my best to take it in, enjoy this special time and have fun!

Julia's hair changed from dark brown to warm blond.

Her eyes look like they might be changing from blue to brown.

She lights up our days by smiling and laughing all of the time.

She is wearing size 9 month in most clothes.

Julia wakes us up each morning by talking, laughing and wiggling. She is a morning person!

Car rides have been easier lately. With less tears.

Julia wiggles with excitement when the cat comes close. She grabs big fists full of hair and holds on for a minute. Then pulls away with lots of hair sticking out between each finger. Pixel seems to love it. She stays around for Julia to do it again and again!

Julia's favorite color might be red. She always picks red things over all other colors.

She has shown interest in food. When I was visiting my mom, Julia grabbed one of my potato pancakes and shoved it in her mouth very quickly. She made a funny face and I scooped it out of her mouth the best I could.

We have been enjoying our summer days in the shade of our maple tree. I lay out a big quilt and Julia practices sitting up. She can do it by herself for a few seconds, then leans too far one way and topples.

She has two teeth!!

Julia discovered her feet and chews on them. So adorable!

Julia loves to say dada!!! She says it often throughout the day. Too bad her dad isn't teaching her dada! He is pappa!

Her hand coordination is terrific. She reaches and grabs things all of the time.

I believe I have found her most ticklely spot! On her neck, right between her cheek and ear. Kisses here are sure to bring laughter!

She is now smiling at you first and anticipates your smile back. So cute!

Computer Troubles Continue...

I've been troubleshooting and have figured out that the problem is with my imovie software. It locks up my computer each time I try to open iphoto/imovie to attach pictures to my blog. Urgh!!!

Little Book Worm

I love reading to Julia. I have read to her since the beginning. I read aloud before she was born, while still in my tummy. Even before her ears developed, I read to her. When you sit to read aloud to someone special, you are calm. I knew she could feel this, even if she couldn't hear the words yet.

My favorite book to read to her is The Greedy Python, by Richard Buckley and Eric Carle. However, Julia's favorite book is Twinkle Toes, by Karen Katz.

I read a few books to her earlier today. When I finished the last one, she got upset. She wanted more. That's when I knew she began her love for books.

So I took Julia on her first visit to the library. We found a big cozy chair and we read and read and cuddled and read. She studied each page, listened to the stories, watched people and tried eating each of the books.

We were there until they closed at 5pm. Then, we borrowed books to take home with us.

I'm not sure who loves story time more.

Computer Troubles

I am having computer troubles. We just returned from a two week vacation and I couldn't wait to upload the pictures! I still haven't figured out why I can't upload my pictures to my blog page, but I'm working on it.
