Chomp Chomp

Julia's second set of molars are peeking through her gums!

The only sign she gave me was lots of drool. Otherwise, she's been in a great mood!

Julia Quotes

"I did good momma. I did good." (This is stated at least 10 times a day when she feels proud)

"Where go Julia's house?" (When we are driving home through the neighborhood)

"I.... wuv... YOU!" (The last part is pronounced with a happy, high-pitched squeal. And was taught to her by Aunt Shana)

"Good boy Sabi, good boy!"

"Watch Cailluo momma? Watch Caillou?" (A favorite show.)

"Mist you papa, mist you!" (Everyday papa arrives home from work.)

"Wakie, bakie" (When she wakes up or wants you to get out of bed. It is from papa's song: Wakie, wakie, eggs and bakie)

"Love you momma, love you." (usually accompanied with a cuddle hug)

Give her the world

Too bad it is considered "spoiling.". Otherwise, I would give... her... the... world.

Almost TWO!

Julia will be two soon. No doubt, she feels ready. I'm not so sure I am. She is growing faster than I can take.

She loves to walk like a penguin, by pointing her knees out really far and walking around. It is adorable!

She loves giving papa eye kisses, nose kisses, ear kisses, forehead kisses, chin kisses and cheek kisses before going to bed every night. Could she be prolonging sleep time???

Her favorite books are any books about princesses.

She likes to dress up, play drums, play with princess dolls and baby dolls.

Everyday she asks to do some type of art project: play doh, watercolor paints, finger paints, crayons or markers. Mommy loves it too!

She named her dollies for the first time. The first one is Sally and the second is Donna.

Julia can count to 14 without trying and she can say the alphabet perfectly.

Her favorite show is Caulliou. Her favorite movie is Happy Feet which she recently got for Christmas from her Oma.

Julia is wearing size 2T in clothes and size 7 shoe.

Pizza is still one of her favorite foods. She also loves (whole) apples, cheese sticks and broccoli!

She loves the tallest, longest scariest slides at the park. (She has as long as I can remember.) She is great at controlling her speed just enough so she doesn't shoot off the bottom of the slide.

She likes to have bubbles in her bath and to take showers.

She is a great helper with laundry, cooking, vacuumimg, dusting, feeding the cat and dog. Her favorite is making toast and mixing stuff with the whisk.

Julia is always in a hurry and will always runs from one point to another. She jumps A LOT. Twirls and dances all day long.

I love how she gives big, strong hugs.

She is still very outgoing and such a joy to be with! She is so wonderful!

My Wonderful Little Spit Fire

Julia is my little angel. However, she does not hesitate testing her boundaries. She was quite the little spit fire in the store a few weeks ago. We were at Wal-mart and one of the many things we needed to get were snow boots. Well, lucky for Julia, they had PRINCESS snow boots! You can imagine the joy she felt! It was a very busy day at Wal-mart, so when she requested to get down and walk, I explained why she couldn't. After more insisting, she got very frustrated.

That's when she reached up and grabbed my hair, pulling it with both fists. Then she quickly reached up and (wanting to hit me) tapped my face with a little hesitation. Followed by a little bite on my knuckle while I was holding the cart handle!

I just stood there staring at her thinking, "this wasn't in any of my parenting books!"

Then I said, "Sorry you hurt mommy. Now you have to put the princess boots back." I got the princess snow boots out of the cart and put them on the shelf. Which didn't seem to phase her. SO then I told her to wave bye bye to the boots. That's when she got disappointed about it.

Since then she hasn't done anything like that again. Hopefully she never will. I love that little spit fire, either way!

(And yes, she did get snow boots another day, just plain pink ones though.)

Welcome 2011

I can't wait to find out what surprises you have in store for us. Oh, the excitement!!!

Tangled

On Christmas Eve, Julia went to her first movie at a theater. We went to a 9:40am showing of the new Disney princess movie, "Tangled." We were not sure how she would do in the theater, since she can't sit still for a 30 minute cartoon. However, it WAS a PRINCESS movie and we knew that had some power of keeping her attention.

She ended up loving the movie. Since she was feeling a little wiggly, she spent the time crawling from papa's lap to her booster seat and to my lap. However, she was watching the movie. When scary parts came, she snuggled up on papa's lap. One boring part came and she decided to get down from her seat. She accidentally hit her mouth on the seat in front of her and started to cry. I took her down the theater's stairs and she gathered herself. We watched the movie's ending from there.

When we were leaving the theater, she began to cry, saying, "more princess movie, more princess movie..." She was so upset, I had to take her to the ladies room to calm her down. However, for the first time, nothing I said or did helped. She was very upset the movie was over and felt very strongly about it. For the first time, mommy couldn't help. It took about 10 minutes and she was able to calm down, knowing we would watch it again someday. After that, we all three stopped in one of those little picture booths for shots to remember the day by.

She just loved the movie so much. I loved it too and so did papa. What a great first movie experience. This will be a treasured memory for us.
