Cold Days Have Arrived

Best of Friends

Julia and Pixel are the best of friends. Julia gets so excited when Pixel comes near. She shows her excitement by waving her arms up and down and sqealling! When Pixel gets close enough, Julia grabs big handfuls of fur and pulls. Then she has fur sticking out between her fingers! Pixel must love it, because she stays for Julia to do it again and again. When Julia is not 'petting' her, they spend their time playing together and napping together.

Places to Go

Julia has places to go and people to see. She has been crawling for a few weeks now and there is no distance too far and no obstacle to difficult. 2 weeks ago she began climbing stairs! She can zoom right up them, however coming back down is a little rough.

Sauerkraut

Julia doesn't like baby food. Including bananas, pears, cereal, sweet potatoes and other baby friendly foods. Even if I mix in mommy milk, she still doesn't like it. We let her have fun with it, play in it, still she doesn't like it.

We went to dinner at Helga's German restuarant and Julia reached for poppa's saurkraut so we let her have it and... she LOVED it! She ate it all, which was about 3 tablespoons worth. Well, maybe she ended up wearing a lot of it too. I was just happy that we found something she wouldn't gag at, get a shiver from or turn away from!

Who would have guessed it? Our little sauerkraut baby!

Since this adventure, we have discovered that Julia also enjoy limes, lemons and pickles.

A Walk

Sometimes poppa and I take a walk to put you to sleep. You seem to enjoy it as much as we do.

Sunset

Enjoying an evening on our back patio.

A Day in the Park

Julia and I visited Bellview Park in Littleton. They have a creek that runs through it, a children's train, a petting zoo, lots of big trees and playgrounds.

Julia likes riding the train. However, she is not sure what to think of the whistle and tunnel.

Julia loves it when we sing 'Old McDonald.' Especially when when do the gobble sound of a turkey and then she got to see a real turkey! Oh, the excitement!

The calf was so sweet. I didn't have the heart to tell Julia why it has a big, bright, yellow tag with numbers.

The only animal Julia petted was this sheep. Her wool was very soft.

Oma

We love spending time with Doris.

Levi and Brenden got to meet Oma and learn the joys of a slot machine!

The boys also got to swim at night. So fun!

We miss Oma.

Julia went to a birthday party!

She got to know some more family, like uncle Keith.

Captiva Island

We spent a few relaxing days on Captiva.

Uncle Scott took Levi deep sea fishing. They caught a bunch of red snapper, which they brought back and grilled. YUM!

The best part was our cousins, Debbie and Matt and their kids, Sydney, Lior, Jordan and Akiva coming to Captiva to spend the day with us.

Universal Studios

It was a fun two days in Orlando. Nephews Levi (12) and Brenden (7) really enjoyed Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Uncle Scott and Levi rode the Hulk ride! Aunt Lisa skipped that ride, with the excuse of having to stay back and watch the baby. The new Simpsons ride was Brenden's favorite. My favorite was Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges. We got very soaked on it (I mean like we just took at 30 minute shower with our clothes on). It was fun taking Julia into Dr. Suess Landing. Everything there is like you are in a Dr. Suess book. It was a great time and we hope to go back soon.

"Leaving on a Jet Plane"

In July, Julia and Brenden had their first flights!
